🎙️📻 Broadcasting Students Visit Local Radio Station!

Our broadcasting students recently had an exciting opportunity to travel to Watseka and tour a local radio station! During the visit, they got a behind-the-scenes look at how a radio station operates and learned how the team works together to bring broadcasts to life.

Some of our students even had the chance to go on air to help promote the upcoming spring musical, Frozen Jr. 🎭❄️

It was an incredible real-world learning experience and a great opportunity for students to put their broadcasting skills into action!

🌎🍽️ Spanish 1 Explores Hispanic Cuisine!

For the past three weeks, Spanish 1 students have been learning about the gastronomía of the Hispanic world. Today, they wrapped up the unit with our annual Spanish 1 field trip, which also served as their unit exam on La Gastronomía Hispana!

Students practiced vocabulary related to foods, the kitchen, cooking, and restaurants, and even put their skills to work in real-life situations. Last week, they cooked “La Tortilla de Patata” thanks to Mrs. Pittman and her culinary classroom — and they did a fantastic job! 👩‍🍳🥔

During the field trip, students ordered their meals, asked for refills, and requested to-go boxes all in Spanish! They also learned how to calculate tax and tip as part of the experience.

A big thank you to Si Señor for the wonderful food, great service, and especially to our waitress for being so helpful and patient with our Spanish language learners!
